ABOUT NATUROPATHY
Naturopathy has been a practiced form of medicine throughout the world for many years, the principals and philosophies that form naturopathy originated in the 16th and 17th centuries. Hippocrates who is a Greek physician who lived around 2400 years ago first formulated the concept of “the healing power of nature”. From there naturopathy has been practiced and spread around the world. Naturopathy is said to have ‘formerly’ originated in North America by Dr. Benedict Lust who used the term naturopathy to describe his clinical practice.
Today naturopathy is a holistic approach to wellness that incorporates both traditional and scientific based practices. A naturopath aims to bring an individual back to a state of homeostasis through looking at the patients diet, lifestyle and the use of herbal medicines and supplementation. Our naturopath does not ignore the significance and importance of a healthy diet, clean fresh water, sunlight, exercise and stress management.
